Elevators
There are three passenger elevators in 15 East 26th Street Lobby and one passenger elevator and freight elevator in the back of the building.
FREIGHT ENTRANCE
- The entrance to the freight elevator is on East 27nd Street, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue.
FREIGHT OPERATING HOURS
- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays)
FREIGHT CAR DIMENSIONS
- Door opening: 42" wide x 84” high
- Capacity is 3,500 pounds
The Freight Elevator is for everyone to use during the day and is in general support of business operations. During these hours the freight car is meant to be shared with routine deliveries and in a manner that is consistent with the daily operations of each tenant.
In order to maintain a professional appearance and atmosphere the following instructions apply to use of both elevators:
- Use of passenger elevators is strictly prohibited for large deliveries. All large packages, carts, and bulk deliveries to 15 East 26th Street must be made through the freight entrance off of 27th Street and to the Tenant space via the building’s freight elevator. These deliveries include those made by messengers, contractors, delivery services, etc.
- All large deliveries and moves must be scheduled with the Building Manager at least 24 hours in advance.
- Floor protection (Masonite, etc.) is required from the elevator to the delivery point on any Multi-Tenant floor.
- Holding areas are not available at the dock; as such, arrangements must be made for immediate delivery to the suite.
- The freight dimensions must be verified in field by the Tenant or Contractor to the Tenant to determine whether or not an object can be delivered. What may fit into the elevator on the street level, may not fit on the Tenant floor due to variations in corridor sizing.
